Abstract

Serum magnesium is the «forgotten ion» in medical practice. Most of the time it is not taken into account in clinical studies, its alterations tend to be ignored and its therapeutic approach is not well defined. The symptomatology produced by hypomagnesemia is nonspecific and its diagnostic approach is complex. We present the case of a pregnant patient with symptomatic hypomagnesemia secondary to renal damage due to hypercalcemia.
